Introductions

  • With a background in medical research, Dr. Sarah Ballantyne began her career as a science communicator and health educator when she launched her original website in 2011.
  • She is the former co-founder and co-host of The Whole View  (formally The Paleo View) and recorded 500 episodes with Stacy! After the two parted ways to focus on other projects, Sarah took time to re-focus and re-brand and has developed Nutrivore, with a new book coming out in May!

Nutrivore

I get asked here almost every week about how and why my content is so very different then it was pre-pandemic.

Moving forward requires taking a step back and letting go of value judgments about food that lack scientific support. It’s crucial to emphasize that this isn’t about laying blame or feeling guilt, but rather about making room in our minds for a wealth of new, invaluable information focused on the positives that we can gain from a nutrient-focused approach like Nutrivore and where no food is off the table: Nourishment, not judgment.

It’s important to stay up-to-date on scientific evidence, and recent studies have definitely changed the landscape of human knowledge of nutrition. Nutritional sciences is a very young field of research, and thanks to advances in methodology and technology, new studies are adding to our understanding all the time.

…  I gave a webinar that was long in the making called, The Truth About Food Toxins. I spoke in detail about 12 common food toxins and share how my approach has changed and was able to do that thanks to new evidence and scientific studies that challenge the status quo. Additionally, some of the myths I busted in this webinar I was able to do thanks to my shift to a more rigorous metric and objective view of the science. It is the responsibility of all scientists to adjust our stance when new studies demand it.  – Dr. Sarah’s IG

What Else Has Sarah Been Up To?

In addition to catching up about a shift in food philosophies (steeped and informed by science, of course) and reflections on being in the Paleo space, Sarah chats about her new book baby (releasing in May) and the work put into this, her new website, and new social media platforms (Threads is her favorite!)

Stacy and Sarah also talk about their (now) teenages, dogs, home gardening (Sarah LOVES digging holes), and life in general!
