About Stacy Toth: she is the voice behind @realstacytoth. She and her husband (Matthew McCarry) co-host and produce the top rated syndicated podcast, The Whole View as well as authored 3 bestselling cookbooks. They and their award-winning recipes have been featured in several national publications, television, radio shows, podcasts and online.
Stacy & Matt are well-known for their candor and openness in addressing Real Life topics, such as being foster parents of a transgender non-binary kiddo, raising their children (now teenagers), non-toxic living, and navigating the toxicity of the wellness industry. Our mindset about health and diet culture have changed over time; we strive to educate others on what we’ve learned over the years. more about Stacy Toth & Matt
Stacy & Matt are well-known for their candor and openness from everything from the ups and downs of two decades together, parenting, pop culture, and lifestyle changes that saved their health. With multiple autoimmune diseases and a lifetime of gaining and losing hundreds of pounds, Stacy focuses on finding health and wellness – inside and out – through self love, respect, and acceptance.
It may all be held together with duct tape and lots of love, but we focus on reducing stress, finding joy, and spending quality time together. Most recently, because of a team of amazing women entrepreneurs also focused on sharing the mission of clean living and safer skincare, Stacy quit her career as an executive in Federal Regulation and contracts law to expand her work here and with her Beautycounter babes! She’s sharing all about their new life, including the summer going cross-country in a minivan with her 3 stinky tween & teen sons.
There are many factors that contribute to health and they change regularly. Before Stacy suffered a back injury from a freak concrete-bag-lifting gardening accident, she was a competitive strong woman. While recovering, I found and fell in love with the importance of better beauty products. Now with a trans foster kiddo, as a trauma-informed, certified in Collaborative Problem Solving, and Treatment Foster Parent we focus education on mental health and acceptance.
Above all, self care remains a topic of frequent discussion here on the blog. Because Stacy is grateful to have had the opportunity to explore and find things she is passionate about, she wants to encourage everyone to do the same. There is infinite joy in finding what you love and making time for yourself to enjoy it. Bonus points if it contributes to a health, but stress reduction itself is healthy!

March 9, 2011 at 2:57 AMThis is inspiring! Thanks for keeping this blog and sharing this. I know so many people who drop weight but make no mental strides to complement their physical accomplishment…and those folks seem to continue to yo-yo. I was one of those people! Then I found the Paleo/Primal way of life and found the mental and physical balance I craved. It was really an awakening! Again, thanks for this blog!

March 9, 2011 at 5:32 PMLiz, that is the highest compliment I could receive. I really value and respect the work you do – you’re one of my biggest inspirations, so thank you!! I got this notification late last night and was beaming and gloating to my husband until my head finally hit the pillow. I’m looking forward to listening to your interview with Bill and Hayley soon (I seriously geedked out and listened to the entire Robb Wolf backlog of podcasts over the past couple weeks)!

March 19, 2011 at 1:26 AMStacy & Matt, I just found your blog from chowstalker and read you bios…truly inspirational stuff!!! Congrats on making a healthy change for yourselves and for being positive role models for your kids. I am well on my way to a paleo lifestyle after a few years of paleo attempts. Nice to see other folks with some similarities to me on this journey. Keep up the good work!

March 30, 2011 at 3:23 PMWow!!! Congratulations on the great work you’ve done! I have a LOT of fellow mom friends who are also currently on Weight Watchers (or Engine 2 or 4-Hour Body or… eeek… RAW VEGAN!) and they’re so frustrated because they feel like they’re not physically progressing as they *should* be. I can’t wait to tell my friends about you (umm… that is, if that’s okay)! 😀

April 6, 2011 at 2:32 AMI’d love for you to share, thank you! I struggled so much with always feeling hungry, beat down, and deprived on all other diets. Paleo has made my body feel amazing and wonderful; the weight has come off effortlessly. This morning I was down 117lbs in 10 months. Natural portion control and just being more active, nothing crazy or intense like I had to do with WW and had half the results in double the time!

August 1, 2011 at 3:10 AMAwesome! I am so inspired! I was lead to you by Jimmy Moore’s site. Many years back I lost 130lbs doing only lean protein, veges and fruit..super strict but I never felt better, I didnt even know there was a name for it, “paleo.” Kept the weight off for several years and was healthier than ever until I got pregnant with twins. Of course the OB said I must eat carbs etc (which I am addicted to) and I fell off the wagon. My girls are nearly two and I have 30lbs to get off (a far cry from 130 but seems impossible nonetheless.) I also want to feed my girls this way. Thanks for sharing your story and pics! Kristen

August 2, 2011 at 3:27 AMKristen, that’s an amazing accomplishment you have – and I’m sure you’ll get there again. I can attest to Paleo being perfectly healthful for my breastfeeding baby. So, once you get your determination you’ll be golden. Best of luck and let us know how it goes! Thanks for stopping by and commenting, welcome 🙂

August 18, 2011 at 6:24 PMStacy– thank you so much for sharing! I found you through Patti Simmons and am following you on Googleplus. I saw the clothes Patti is sending you and I know you will be happy! (have to admit I stole a couple of shirts–thanks!). I have sixty pounds to lose and though it feels like it will take forever, your story inspires me to keep going! Do you take supplements? Which ones? Can’t wait to read more about your journey as I join you in the lifestyle. Thanks so much!
