We’ve been making Jennifer of Predominately Paleo’s recipes for years now, in fact we love her and her recipes so much we even wrote the foreword for her first book! We’re AMAZED she’s done so much in just a couple years – now launching her FOURTH and BESTSELLING book yet, Paleo Cooking with Your Instant Pot – GENIUS, right?!
If you’re just getting started cooking in your Instant Pot, this video is intended to help take the intimidation out of it. We go over how and why it works, what all the different parts are, what the noises and display messages mean, and answer all the FAQs slung our way.
In the above video we make the Hard-boiled Eggs recipe from Paleo Cooking with Your Instant Pot, plus answered your most burning questions —> watch it here. There are SO many uses for this multi-tasking kitchen device. For example, did you know you can SEAR food in it BEFORE you pressure cook or use it as a slow cooker? Yup. We go over all that in the video!
TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY: Tag a friend on our Facebook Live video [here] and be entered to win one! We’ll select one comment as the winner – you choose if you want the pot or the book, and your tagged friend will get the other. Enter to win here!
Plus, we also wrote a how-to + recipe round-up, too. There’s no excuse to let it collect dust on the shelf anymore! Put this time-saving contraption to work making delicious, nutrient-filled meals!
We know you guys love your Instant Pots as much as we do, so we were incredibly excited to get our hands on this much needed book! We flipped through it together as a family and started a list of what we wanted to make first.
The long list of recipes we plan to make from the cookbook!
Here are some of our favorites!
Smokey Mushrooms & Onions
I dare you not to want to add these to ev-erh-ay-thang!
Yes – you can prep your sketti squash in an IP!
Cilantro Chicken Meatballs
The sear on these (plus the herb mix) is what makes them the author’s own favorite!
Loaded Baked Potato Soup
An instant crowd-pleaser, this is a great appetizer, side or main dish!
Bacon Turkey Meatloaf
I dare you not to fall in love this one, we happen to be
meatloaf obsessed in our house, and this didn’t disappoint!
One of the most common questions we get is, “can I cook XYZ recipe in my Instant Pot?” Because Matt uses ours so much, he’s pretty comfortable at home adapting recipes to be cooked in it. One thing we LOVE about Paleo Cooking with Your Instant Pot is that by following the recipes in the book, you will get a great handle on the different ways to use your pot. By cooking from this book, you will gain the confidence to use your Instant Pot more regularly, and essentially learn how to cook whatever you want, and without necessarily following a recipe!
We have heard from so many people that they have an IP but either don’t use it at all (for fear or not knowing how) or only use it for broth. We wanted to show how easy and versatile it is, so the recipe below is also done live in the video above. Make sure to watch it if you, too, have any hesitations about using this ah-maze-ing device.
- 6-8 Large Sized Eggs (pastured recommended)
- 1 Cup Water
- Plug in your Instant Pot and pour the water in the bottom of the stainless bowl.
- Put in a stainless strainer/steamer basket (there is one that comes with the IP).
- Place your desired number of eggs on top of the opened steamer basket in a single layer.
- Put the lid on and press the Manual button. With the "-" button, adjust it to 8 minutes on the display (2-6 minutes for softer center).
- Close and lock the lid, make sure the vent on top is closed. Let the IP do it's magic, and then quick-release the pressure valve.
- Let cool slightly and vent completely before opening lid (about 1 minute).
- Transfer eggs to immediately cool, either in an ice water bath or to the fridge.
See video in this post for a demo of how to use your IP for this recipe LIVE!
No, we’re not endorsed or paid by IP. We just LEGIT LOVE IT that much and really think you will too (if you give it a chance). So try these Hard-Boiled Eggs yourself, see how perfectly they come out PLUS they’re EASY to peel! If you like your eggs softer inside then simply shorten the manual cooking cycle. We find these perfect for what we use HB eggs for (deviled eggs & egg salad).
