THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED
Anne-Marie Otvos Cain has won! She says she’s going to make “a zillion things!”
Calling all Paleo people! We’ve been nominated for Best Family & Kid Blog over at The Kitchn. If you enjoy our blog, please click the link and vote for us! We’d LOVE your vote – it helps spread the general idea that paleo can be done with a family in a healthful way! Such an honor β₯
I have great news, everyone!
No, seriously. It’s great news for me! I got one of the items on my Christmas wishlist! I got a Blendtec Designer Series blender with a Wildside Jar AND a Twister jar!
And Blendtec wants to give one of you one of these for free!
Get ready, because instructions to win our very Blendtec Wildside with Twister Jar (made with nut, seed & coconut butters in mind!) are at the bottom of this post.Β For now, I’m going to share what I look forward to using my Blendtec Blender for. I’m especially excited to finally have a blender strong enough to make our own almond & coconut milks without frightening chemicals hidden in them!
All photos from the blogger’s sites, click the photo for the recipe:
Top Row: Elana’s Pantry’s Almond Milk, Against All Grains’ Cashew Butter, The Paleo Mom’s Coconut Milk;
Middle Row: Laura Pappas Health’s Banana Bread, Paleo Spirit’s Mayonnaise, PaleOMG’s Green Smoothie;
Bottom Row: Our Blueberry Smoothie, Our Butternut Squash Ice Cream, The Clothes Make the Girl’s Sweet Potato Soup with Bacon
Now, why Blendtec? It’s the “swiss army knife” of blenders; look at all the functions it can serve:
It’s truly impressive and I think I’m in love. This thing will smooth out anything. I’ve already used in twice in recipes for Beyond Bacon: to make a chili sauce for grain-free Tamales (seriously, check out the pic) and to make a smooth-as-butter acorn squash soup.
It is seriously beyond my wildest expectations. I never would have thought that any blender could have chopped those chilies so fast! Not to mention, with so much pureeing of nuts, coconut and everything else in our kitchen – we’ve killed TWO food processor motors in ONE year. It was time to upgrade, and when I did my research I knew Blendtec was the replacement I wanted. Let’s be honest, if this device is going to be performing so many functions in my kitchen, it needs to be able to sit out on my counter! Also, a lot of the bloggers we respect have and love Blendtec (like Kelly, Juli, and Danielle).
It is a significant investment, but for the warranty and customer service that comes along with it, it should pay for itself! You can make it more affordable by getting a refurbished model (ours is!); we also have found that refurbished models are widely available and just like used cars – totally worthy of your adoration. The reason this shouldn’t concern you is because Blendtec’s motors were originally made for the commercial industry, just look at this comparison between a regular motor and Blendtec’s 1,560 watt technology!
This week, you should look forward to me using it to make several recipes because it’s totally Blendtec week! We’ll be reviewing this product all week with our honest feedback. The boys will get to touch buttons and let us know what they think
As a result, we’ll have terrific new recipes for you to try! But I know what you’re saying: How is this going to benefit me? I don’t own this particular product, so I don’t think I’ll even be able to make your recipes! Never fear – you can win one here!

January 28, 2013 at 8:55 AMIf I were to win the Blendtec Blender, I would make my own almond milk, nut butters, nut flours, smoothies, banana ice creams, etc. that would be essential to living a Paleo life. It would certainly make eating healthy a breeze! I currently do not have any of the appliances that the Blendtec replaces, as I cannot afford them at this time. Winning the Blendtec would allow me to have all of those appliances in one machine! My e-mail address is gofit72285@gmail.com.

January 28, 2013 at 9:36 AMOM-Gosh what an awesome idea for a giveaway. So here’s my entry info, I already follow you on FB and have added to follow you on Pinterest (although I have already pinned many things from your page), I have liked Blentec on FB and now following them on Pinterest, I can’t order Eat like a Dinosaur via Amazon so will have to shoot over to KOBO and try buying it there. I have signed up for Blentec’s newsletter and can’t wait to try some new “smoothies”. Oh and what do I plan to use the Blentech for…..Almond Milk – we go through buckets of that stuff, not to mention trying coconut milk our blender doesn’t do such a good job. Any Mayo not having much luck with that recipe either…doesn’t seem to blend very well…maybe that a human error ….lol (wclee@rogers.com) Good Luck Everybody !
Jenn
January 28, 2013 at 9:36 AMI would make anything and everything with the blender! Would be especially helpful in blending up batters and mixes with coconut flour as I tend to have clumping issues with it.

January 28, 2013 at 9:49 AMI completed 1-5 & 6-7. I do not yet own the dinosaur book to review but its on my wish list as soon as I can as I have been wanting it to help with my 4 year olds Paleo transition.
If I were to win the Blendtec, (after hours of doing a happy dance) I would make Green Smoothies everyday as well as soup on a regular basis. I would also finally be able to make my own ‘chemical free’ nut milks & flours. I make smoothies now in my Oster Blender, but they are a little extra textured, if you know what I mean. π
Good luck, everyone!

January 28, 2013 at 10:51 AMI have two teens in braces, it would be so amazing to have a Blendtec to make them some smoothies. I have “that other blender” that I got used from eBay, but the motor burned out and the blades got out of whack, so I’m using a cheap thrift store blender until I can save up for something better. I’ve been doing SCD, but am inspired to try Paleo, in particular by your journey. The Blendtec would allow me to make Paleo breads, coconut milk and soooo much more. Love your blog.

KitchenAid top of the line blender however I am not able to make these
things. With my five year old’s gluten intolerance I am always making
treats for her class and for play dates. No one can ever tell the
difference but I can – the kids gobble all of it up (and the parents
too!)

January 28, 2013 at 12:55 PMYumpin’ yiminy —– I’ve had a Blendtec on my wish list for years, I’d make my own coconut milk, nut butters, real creamy mayo, ice creams, the smoothest soups ever (I believe) —- I just about killed my old blender making mayo a few weeks ago π poor thing — I’ve been paleo over a year now and realize my kitchen needs upgrading in some areas. Help π I posted on Pintrest and subscribed to Blendtec’s newsletter. Can’t wait to see what you do this week. Thank You — Tanya

January 28, 2013 at 1:36 PMOh yay guys! What a great giveaway! I am the proud recipient of winning your awesome ELAD via blog contest. We use it all of the time. My 11 year old is our baker. Our family of 6 (4 of which are male, and eat us out of house and home :0) ) appreciates the Food Projects in Chapter 9. We are big fans of recipes such as Meatball Salad pg. 87, Rat on a Stick pg. 99, Graham Cookies pg. 173, Grain-Free Granola pg. 175, Pumpkin Pucks pg. 229, and the Chocolate Milkshake pg. 193. Last night my son made the Mini Nut Butter Cups on page 195 and they were a hit with everyone. I am sure your newest CB will be an even greater success. Believe it or not, I used to own a coffee shop and 2 BlendTecs and also a Vitamix. I can tell you that we liked the BlendTec waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better than the Vitamix, especially for its ease of use. Unfortunately, we had to sell our business, and our BlendTecs :o(. I didn’t eat Paleo, and/or grain- free back then, so did not realize the value. Wish I would have held onto one of them. Bummer deal.
If I won, I would make my own cashew milk, coconut milk, Chocolate Milk Shake on pg. 193 of ELAD, and the Ten Tomato Ketchup on pg. 143 of ELAD, amongst many other things. I live in the kitchen so I would consider it a great asset and help. The Magic Bullet just doesn’t cut it!
I signed up for BlendTec’s newsletter.
I am working on subscribing to Paleo View on iTunes (trying to figure out how).
Left a review of ELAD.
Told you what I would use my BlendTec for.
Now just crossing my fingers, lol.
Thanks again guys and have a good week.

January 28, 2013 at 3:13 PMHi, I’m soooooooo glad I am able to have a chance to win a Blendtec have wanted one for a long time but at 65 you don’t spend money on such luxury you do with what you have which is a blender I’ve had since we got married 44 years ago. I’m also glad you don’t have to use all of the 1st 6 options even though I do listen to your view on iTune. But when it comes to putting on Face book and pin it and all that other stuff, like I said I’m 65 and can bearly keep up with all the blogs I read for Gluten Sentsitivity for me and my daughter with special needs to eat right and get healthy.
If I were to win this I would be in Heaven with making Mayonnaise, smoothies, butter, Breads, Flours, Dressings and so much more it would be JUST GREAT. Thanks for giving me a chance to win. Also signed up for the Blendtec newletter.
Thanks,
eva

January 28, 2013 at 3:14 PMOH, my goodness– if I win, I think it will become my new favorite kitchen tool– the possibilities are endless! I have a Magic Bullet and a regular (really old) blender right now, and I am limited because the motors aren’t strong enough to make things like almond milk or coconut butter. My girls LOVE smoothies as “dessert” now, so I think that will be a favorite use. Almond flour…soups…purees…chop nuts…meat…sausage??? Oh, if I will I’ll be the happiest girl in the whole USA! π You can notify me at mellobooks@gmail.com when I win and then listen for a very loud “WA-hooooooooo!!!” all the way from Seattle. π

If I was to win the Blendtec, I’d make coconut butter (to eat straight up…yum! and to make your creamy coconut chocolate chip macaroons), almond butter, cashew butter, and start making lots of green smoothies.

January 28, 2013 at 3:38 PMI would make cashew milk, coconut milk. I would also make my own nut flours from the nuts because its less expensive. I have multiple food allergies so it would be great to make healthy food that works for me quickly. I am trying on a rotation diet to help my gut heal and learning more about things I can make so that myself and my husband are eating fresh healthy food that is good for us and this tool would be awesome and it does so many different functions better than a food processor which we were looking at getting.

January 28, 2013 at 6:51 PMWow. Seed and nut flour is what I would first try if I won a Blendtec. Can’t use almond meal around here so we have to make our own – cashew, macadamia nut, hazelnut… Our old Cuisinart cannot make a flour, it gets a certain texture – with little chunks – and then it turns the meal to butter. Oops, went too far and it is still chunky. Oh well, nut chunks are nice in cookies.

January 28, 2013 at 8:01 PMWell, I’m entering this contest to give the blender away, because I already have one (and love it!). Here’s what I *do* make in it and want for my friend to be able to make in it: smoothies; coconut butter; other nut butters; a lovely avocado “pudding”, which is the only way that my youngest will eat avocados; paleo hummus; coconut milk; pureed soups; pureed veggies to add to soups (so that my son will eat them π ). That’s what I can think of now, but I’m sure there are other things I’m forgetting. It’s a very handy machine!

January 28, 2013 at 9:52 PMI don’t see that my post actually posted so I’m going to post again. forgive this if it’s a duplicate.
I am following Blendtec & Paleo Parents on both Facebook & Pinterest.
I would be using the Blendtec daily to make juices and smoothies. I would also make my own almond milk & nut butters. I would use it for everything that it says it’s capable of doing. Just to see what I would be able to create.

January 28, 2013 at 9:54 PMIf I were to win, I’d make nut butters & smoothies for my kids. I’d also love it for making soups. I’d also love it for it’s food grinding capabilities. I have a bunch of grassfed beef livers and hearts in the freezer and I need to bite the bullet and try them so I need a way to grind them up to mix with beef!

January 29, 2013 at 11:13 AMI would make all of my baby food! Last year my family moved to a home that had space to create a veggie garden! January 29, 2013 at 11:13 AMI subscribed to Blendtec’s newsletter. I want to make some awesomely smooth smoothies. I’d like my husband to get some more nutrients and I think I could get him to “drink” some veggies but he has problems with texture so if it’s a little chunky he won’t drink it. I have a blender but it won’t make them smooth enough for him π
Jennifer
January 29, 2013 at 11:15 AMI would create soups and batters and smoothies! I would make the jump to making my own nut flours and nut butters and almond milk, and I would, for the first time, be able to blend meat into a soup (or anything) in order to “sneak” it into my texture-sensitive little one. The blender I have now leaves too many “chunks” of whatever I try to hide in his food, so he won’t eat it.
