Key Takeaways

Introductions

  • The diagnosis of chronic depression and panic disorder for Emma served as the catalyst for her 20+ years of self-study and her ongoing pursuit of direction and purpose in life, eventually leading her to stumble upon the Human Design System.
  • Now with 17+ years experience as a Certified Human Behavioral Specialist and Qualified Human Design Coach, she makes Human Design practical and accessible for everyone, sharing free information daily via her podast and social media.

What is Human Design?

  • Stacy acknowledges that Human Design lacks substantiating science, as it is linked to astrology. However, there is a tremendous amount of research on the positivity of inner personal work and self-reflection. As it relates to the celestial input, Stacy recommends revisiting Episode 6 this season with Aliza. Being frank that astrology is NOT a science, but rather a femme-centric approach to intuition and discovering our true selves. Stacy personally believes that science has not yet caught up to how the universe’s infinite matter and energy affects us all. Wikipedia’s article describes Human Design as a “New Age-inspired pseudo-scientific practice described as a holistic self-knowledge system. Its effectiveness has not been confirmed by peer reviewed research.”
  • Emma says Human Design is an “energetic blueprint” and describes it as a synthesis of aspects of astrology, chakras, Kabbalah, I Ching, quantum physics and others. According to the Wikipedia article, it purports to be a self-knowledge method which does not have any specific religious dogma or affiliation. Despite this, it has been described by theologian J. R. Hustwit as a “transreligious project” that is “breathtaking in scope” and synthesizes seven or more traditions.
  • Furthermore, she also notes that Human Design just really helps us to get back to that place where we’re going to be more heart-led, coming from a place that we are in our greater truth, experiencing more flow and less resistance, healing our conditioning. Our conditioning is who we think we need to be to receive love, to be taken care of, and to belong. So it helps us understand ourselves at the deepest level, gives us the permission to be ourselves, and then helps us to serve the planet from a place of authenticity.

Next Steps

  • The Wikipedia article says in “Human Design analysis, planets are displayed in a type of horoscope called a bodygraph. The bodygraph shows the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching at various locations on the body. It is sometimes shown within a mandala, overlaid on the 12 signs of the zodiac”. While there are many aspects to a bodygraph, we start with type / strategy:
    • MANIFESTOR: To Initiate / Inform
    • GENERATOR: To Respond
    • MANIFESTING GENERATOR: To Respond
    • PROJECTOR: Waiting for the Invitation
    • REFLECTOR: Time
  • Discover how burnout may be affecting you based on your type. Manifestors, projectors, and reflectors know physical burnout really well and must create space and time for themselves to function, while generators tend to operate in functional burnout, still showing up when our energy and passion is gone and we have lost a connection to our physical bodies.
  • Get honest with yourself about your energy and then start creating boundaries.
  • Additionally, clear on what is your energy and what energy you are taking on from others. Build the muscle of paying attention to subtle energies and being able to scan your body to check in.
  • Furthermore, take time out to play!
  • Ultimately, continue to be curious and experiment with the information provided to you.  Emma says one of the challenges with Human Design is that people have taken it too rigidly. There are a lot of people who teach Human Design as a dogma. She believe that being birthed into the world, one of its fundamental principles is that it’s an experiment. Don’t just listen to her; she’s going to give you all the info, help you with the chart, but you have to run the experiment.
