Clean Eating = Clear Skin

The interesting thing about the paleo lifestyle is that different people from different walks of life come to paleo for different reasons, but they stay for one main reason: through eating whole, real foods they have healed from some sort of ailment and their life has become more positive and healthy as a result.

You may have heard of awesome transformation stories of weight loss or healing from chronic digestive issues, but this week on Guest Blogger Wednesday, Olivia March Howell shares her story about how she came to this lifestyle in search of a cure for her issues with Cystic Acne.

Stacy has also found personally that the cleaner she eats, and the more she stays away from treats and alcohol, the clearer her skin is. However, when she does occasionally experience a few breakouts around birthday celebrations or because of stress, she loves to use the Primal Life Organics Banished Serum for spot treatment.

Stacy’s PICKS: The Best New Paleo Recipes of the Week

There were lots of great new #paleo recipes that caught Stacy’s eye this week, and she faithfully added them to her Paleo Pinterest boards and tweeted about her favorites to make sure everyone saw them!

So what were the star recipes that stood out to her (that she is currently begging Matt to make)?

Stacy's Picks for Best New Paleo Recipes on PaleoParents

Since cooler temperatures and shorter days are ahead, comfort foods are a must-have a few nights a week. This week there were some awesome new recipes that fit the bill in the comfort department, but also have healthy, whole paleo ingredients. Everyday Maven posted a hearty recipe for Beef Chili with Butternut Squash, and The Domestic Man also posted a quick and easy recipe for Pressure Cooker Short Ribs that is perfect for a busy weeknight. But the absolute winner in the comfort food department was Merit and Fork’s new recipe for Paleo Chicken Pot Pie. I mean how flaky does that crust look???

This interesting recipe for Grilled Baby Artichokes with Chimichurri Sauce also caught Stacy’s eye from Helene, blogger behind Tartlette. Incidentally, Helene is the amazing food photographer extraordinaire, and author of Plate to Pixel: Digital Food Photography and Styling. It is one of the best book resources for food photography, and we highly recommend it! Helene’s blog is awesome, and she is also gluten-free!

Lastly, it wouldn’t be a week in fall if we didn’t notice some new pumpkin and apple recipes – and there are a lot out there! These Ooey Gooey Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bars from PaleOMG, and also this easy Pumpkin Almond Butter Freezer Fudge from Taylor Made It Paleo caught Stacy’s eye.

Beth from Tasty Yummies is one of the inspirational bloggers that moved us to start our Tutorial Thursday series, and in her installment this week of the Original Tutorial Tuesday, she shared a recipe for Apple Pie Dehydrated Apple Chips that were just absolutely beautiful. For more info all about apples, check out our post from a few weeks ago here.
