INDULGE a little too much last weekend? Trying to avoid a downhill slide of UNHEALTHY habits into the holiday season? We’ve rounded up our favorite HEALING and recovery foods in this week’s newsletter!
Our Real Life
So. Much. Fun. Have I told you how much I LOVE this holiday?! We had a great time with family and friends at our Harry Potter themed party!
Our tradition: trick or treat until you can’t trick or treat anymore. Come home, mom cashes out candy at 10 (fun size) for a quarter, and everyone can keep up to 5 gluten-free pieces each for later. I’ve heard some genius things other healthy families do, too – but this is a win-win for us! One of my boys is saving up his money, so he chose to only keep TWO. Kids love cash, even if it’s just $5!
After a weekend of partying and planned treats, I’m giving my body some healthy support with a mug of broth with Pure Indians Ghee, Turmeric, Vital Proteins Collagen, and a pinch of salt. I saw a friend post this make this and immediately was like, “Yes, I NEED that!” I also take Vital Proteins Beef Liver Capsules for synergistic whole food form of energizing B12, since I’m replacing this with coffee.
And Pot Roast, naturally. Comforting, nourishing, healing, delicious. Now that the cooler wether is setting in, we’re putting this one on repeat!
Our Favorite Healing and Recovery Foods
Did you know we created a Healing Box with One Stop Paleo Shop– it contains some of our favorite products: collagen, organ meat, pastured lard, and broth! You can check out the details and order this box —> HERE!
Our number one recovery food is Vital Proteins collagen. It’s something I use every day, and I can tell when I’ve missed it. It is THAT powerful! The kind with the green lid will ultimately gel and is perfect for making gelatin, ice cream, pudding, etc.; and the kind with the blue lid is easily dissolvable for stirring into drinks. More info on both types of gelatin, and recipes on how we incorporate them can be found in this blog post!
Get that good bacteria with your favorite fermented veggies, or my favorite form – kombucha! Our whole family loves GTs Enlightened Gingerberry.
Organ Meat is the ultimate healing and recovery food. Thankfully there is a way to eat it that doesn’t make you want to gag! Epic Liver Bites are not only a great sources of quick protein, but they taste good too! We get ours at OSPS.
Tuna is a staple in our house because it is EASY and delicious. Plus, seafood contains easily digestible protein and lots of vitamins and minerals, Safe Catch Tuna is one of our favorite options!
