Introductions
Tate Barkley grew up closeted and afraid in the rural south during the mid-20th century and is now living as an out, highly respected attorney in a time when the basic rights of the LGBTQ+ community remain under attack by the highest offices in the land and individual and community opinions often follow suit.
LGBTQ+ Rights
Stacy and Tate tackle some of these questions:
- How was your health and well being affected growing up, given the pressures from family in a time and place that wasn’t welcoming to LGBTQ?
- I’m curious how that impacts us legally – both in the southern states but across the US as it relates to LGBTQ rights?
- What can allies do to not just support but advocate for better rights and access for all?
