Need some dinner inspiration? You’ll find it in this week’s newsletter with some of our favorite new paleo cookbooks, plus what we ate while “glamping!”
Our Real Life
Is this what dreams are made of? Kicking back with Epic Pork Rinds and Harry Potter, watching the kids explore and entertain themselves in nature, and eating grilled Cider-Braised Brats (recipe in Real Life Paleo) for dinner!
We had a great weekend “glamping” with friends! So much so that we booked another cabin in the woods for next month too – in the hopes that the bitter cold weather holds off a bit in order for us to continue enjoying the fabulous fall weather Virginia has right now. It is seriously the perfect recharge!
Not sure what “glamping” is? We’ve got a blog post all about it including tons of recipe, food & snack ideas —> HERE.
We’ve talked about Arcadia Farm Camp before, and how we love that it helps teach the boys where their food comes from and the work involved. They held an open-house at the boys’ summer camp farm this past weekend during the “Funtacular.” Wes & the boys got to do things like try on a bee suit, dig sweet potatoes, and collect chicken eggs. Of course we picked up local, organic pumpkins while there too! We always have so much fun at this annual event, we HIGHLY recommend it if you’re local!
This week brought one other interesting experience: me participating in a radio debate defending the Paleo diet against a couple of other moms (including a vegan!). Keep your eyes peeled, we’ll post about it once ready soon!
Brand New PALEO Books!
We loooove cookbook season! It’s so inspiring to see what incredible recipes our fellow bloggers and authors are coming up with! There has been a whole slew of new books out lately, and here are some of the latest ones!
PS: when a new cookbook comes out, we often include it in our weekly meal plan– a great place to gain more info about a book before you buy!
Paleo Soups and Stews by Simone Miller: Simone is a real-deal trained chef, so we always know her recipes will be full of flavor. Her new book will be perfect for cold weather and soup season!
Lexi’s Clean Kitchen by Alexis Kornblum: We love how Lexi’s recipes are simple to make and are bright and cheerful (just like her personality!). This book is full of clean and approachable recipes that we can’t wait to try!
The Autoimmune Wellness Handbook by Micky Trescott and Angie Alt: Only a small part of this book is recipes, while the majority is a how-to guide in navigating all aspects of autoimmune disease. This is such a wonderful resource for those looking to heal – written by a couple of the leading voices in the AIP community!
