Calling all Paleo people! We’ve been nominated for Best Family & Kid Blog over at The Kitchn. If you enjoy our blog, please click the link and vote for us! We’d LOVE your vote – it helps spread the general idea that paleo can be done with a family in a healthful way! Such an honor ♥
If you, like me, JUST realized you have a party (or in my case two) to go to this weekend for The Big Game, then you’re likely scrambling to put something, anything together. Or maybe, even worse, you’re considering “treating” yourself because you just finished a new years challenge and deep-fried-gluten-bombs sounds like a good idea. It’s not, trust me. Unless you want to spend the 2nd half in the bathroom moaning for your mama… stick to safe foods, or at least bring one dish you know you can eat to a party!
What dish could you possibly have time to put together in a day, without leaving your house to go to the store because your pajamas are too comfortable? Well, I figured since I felt the same way and had to look back through our “best of” recipes to serve my own needs, I might as well share the results with you.
These are my favorite recipes on the site, all which are easy to put together, ingredients mainly you probably have on-hand already, and will sincerely impress other party goers into saying, “This is Paleo?!” If you don’t like our recipes, I’ve also included a metric ton of links from other awesome sites who’ve prepared some great looking dishes that I’d be happy to have at my football party!
p.s. someone’s gonna give me props for knowing the colors of the 2013 Superbowl teams, right?
Cookies are perfect at parties. People can have 1 or 8 and walk around easily eating them. We happen to think these two recipes are the bees knees. We’ve also heard from quite a few of you that they are insanely delicious. We’re a cookie-lovin’ house, so you can find more in ELaD and the site if you search.
Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookies and the nut-free Creamy Coconut Chocolate Chip Macaroon version
Or how about some date sweetened fruit & nutballs? Perfect for appetizers or desserts and they make everyone happen, even kids!
Coconut Pecan Date Rolls, or popular nut-free versions Apple Pie Balls and Banana Bread Balls
Something savory? We suggest bite size portions. Make our perfect Meatloaf Cupcakes into meatballs, then throw them in a crockpot with tomato sauce and you’re set. Or maybe fancy it up a bit by making a delicate mint lamb meatball. Or please everyone by wrapping it in… bacon! Last of the little guys are burger sliders. Might we suggest you transform the 50/50 Burgers, or this beef bacon superfood version?
Mint Lamb Meatballs and Buffalo in a Pig’s Blanket
Meatloaf Cupcakes and (use ground red meat if you don’t have Braunschweiger) Beef Bacon Braunschweiger Burger Sliders
Last but not least, the super indulgent sweet treats. If now the’s time you’ve been waiting for to impress your SAD-eating friends, these recipes will SURELY impress and have people asking you all of the adorably annoying questions that you know mean you’ve gotten someone hook, line, and sinker drinking the paleo kool-aid!
Holiday Bundt Cake and Monster Cookie Dough Dip are perfect for special occasions, their deliciousness with astound you!
And who could possibly resist a grain-free, dairy-free Brownie Sundae – caramel sauce included?
Samoa Brownies topped with Creamy Dreamy Frozen Custard or Salted Nut & Caramel Ice Cream would make MY day!
And these are all the ones I’ve been eying on Pinterest, they might take more effort or use ingredients you don’t necessarily already have – but boy do they all look great! I wish I could request my game day party attendees bring these:
Appetizers
Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs with Spicy Relish from Civilized Caveman Cooking (if these looks good check out his eBook currently 60% off!)
Bacon Deviled Eggs (in ELaD), or this variation

I debated calling these Chocolate Covered Bacon Skewers from Healthy Living How To an appetizer, but with the sugar on top (we’d use granulated maple sugar) they’ve got to be a dessert!
These Homemade Healthy Fruit Snacks from Thank Your Body are said to taste like Sour Patch Kids, so I don’t know that I’d share them with anyone

Wellness Mama’s Water Kefir Soda
Dairy-free Irish Cream Liqueur by Allergy Free Alaska
Lime Sorbet Margaritas could be easily paleo-fied
We had hoped to make you some paleo “corn dogs” for a game day recipe, but with trying to finish Beyond Bacon and Blendtec Week – it just wasn’t able to happen. Check back soon though, because we’ll probably make them ourselves for Sunday’s party and then blog the recipe & photos soon, if we can get it to work!
