Hi Friends! We’ve got all the details on how to throw a great summer barbecue, in this week’s newsletter!
The changes in this kid amaze us every single day (more about his ADHD and what we’ve done to help him manage it here). Cole has become an incredible help in the kitchen- here he’s squeezing limes for Cherry Lime Spritzers from The Paleo Magazine Summer Cookbook (which we’re giving away on our blog, here!). He’s even started to help clean dishes without being asked. We’re so, so thankful to watch his quality of life continue to rise.
Part of keeping the Paleo diet sustainable for our family is occasionally having convenience foods and things that feel like treats. The boys love ordering from One Stop Paleo Shop because they can pick out whatever they want. It is fun for them, and opening the package when it arrives always feels like Christmas! Plus, we also stock up on pantry staples! A full video of everything we ordered (it was a lot!) over on Instagram.
Playing is totally Paleo. Which is why life-size Jenga made an appearance at the cookout we hosted last weekend! So much fun… everyone loved playing it, and it was the perfect outdoor game to go along with cold drinks and smoked meats!
Prepare yourself for all the feels! I am the most vulnerable and honest I think I’ve ever been, and I cry for nearly an hour on the podcast talking about the emotional and physical pain of last year’s back injury. If you or anyone you know suffers from chronic pain or depression associated with it, please give this episode a listen and know that you are not alone.
These are all the supplements and one medical pill I am now taking that help me feel my best. I have been able to mitigate pain and feel the best I have in a year with this regimen that we discuss on this week’s episode of The Paleo View.
I hope that my honesty in talking about this very dark year can give you hope- as I am now finally happy and healthy once again!
What We’re Loving This Week!
We are SO STOKED for The Paleo Kids Cookbook, because: 1. We have three young boys, and 2. It’s written by one of our good friends (Jennifer of Predominately Paleo) who makes incredible food- which we know because we’ve tried it! This book will be such a game changer and is a much needed resources for the community!Pre-order here on Amazon for the lowest price!
Oh that? That’s a Bandito… the most incredible almond butter chocolate cup you’ll find. It’s smooth and slightly crunchy with a honey-sweetened fudge-y chocolate top. Just a bite will satisfy the most intense chocolate-peanut butter craving! We’ve been eating (and loving!) these for years! Find them —> here.
Matt received this cast iron wok for Father’s Day and hasn’t stopped using it since! It can hold enough food for a hungry family of five, plus it browns meat and veggies like no other pan can. A great example of how the right tools and quality kitchen equipment will instantly make anyone a better cook. Just in time for summer veggies and lots of stir fries! Find it —> here.
Our pineapple and science loving kid is going to love learning this! Why Does Eating Pineapple Make Your Mouth Sore? Also, while some may think this gross, I’m all about anti-inflammatory proteins!
